Normal Endometrial cells & Endometrial Lesions

Endometrial cells are frequently seen in cervical cytology. Normal endometrial cells need to be accurately identified to distinguish them from other types of high N:C ratio cells, particularly HSIL.

Atypical and abnormal endometrial cells always require referral to investigate the possibility of endometrial carcinoma and to confirm the diagnosis histologically where a definite cytologic diagnosis of malignancy has been made.
