Training for cytopathologists occurs predominantly at professional meetings, such as the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia New Zealand branch Annual Scientific Meeting (RCPA-NZ ASM) held annually in New Zealand. National and international speakers are invited to address topics of current interest with a view to developing the professional practice of cervical cytology in New Zealand.
Some training in diagnostic morphology occurs in combined sessions with cytoscientists. Cytopathologists are welcome to attend the April series of Australian Cytoscientist-led laboratory-based workshops for cytoscientists and cytotechnicians.
References and recent reviews are provided to assist cytopathologists to stay current with the published literature.
